You may have noticed that the price of Amazon’s new RTX 3090 has dropped significantly faster than the previous RTX 2080, so much that buying the RTX 3090 now costs less than the previous RTX 2080. From the few reports I’ve read, this seems to be a case of Amazon’s new store not being as well maintained as their previous store. If you are considering buying an RTX 3090, I’d strongly recommend you wait for at least a month or two to make sure Amazon’s new store is as good as their previous store.

According to complaints on the New World Reddit thread, trying to launch New World with an RTX 3090 can cause the GPU to completely burn out.
This forces owners of such hardware to contact manufacturers for refunds or replacements right away.
To be more specific, it appears that this terrible problem is hitting EVGA RTX 3090 cards more than other GPUs.
Various users of other versions of the 3090 have also experienced issues with overheating and potentially dangerous power spikes.
After setting my graphics level to medium and saving, I bricked a 3090 in the main menu. It’s hard to believe. Has anyone else had a disaster like this? This makes no sense to me because I’ve been playing Cyberpunk 3090 on Ultra for months.

So far, the New World team has refused to acknowledge the problem or offer any solutions or guidance on how to avoid it.
The lobby, according to the slew of people encountering difficulty, is to blame, with ridiculous FPS spikes lasting for long periods of time.
