Sony showed off a pair of new soundbars at CES this week that look perfect for the next generation of consoles, and PlayStation 5.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox S X are the two consoles that Sony and Microsoft are both planning to launch in the next few years. If you’re a big fan of both gaming and sound, this is the time to start thinking about how you’ll get the best possible sound quality from both new consoles.

Sony is throwing its hat into the battle of the soundbars. In addition to the already available XB-HC7 and XB-HC8 models, the company will introduce the all new XB-HC9 and XB-HC10 models. The younger brother of the XB-HC7, the XB-HC9 features a sleek design that allows it to fit in seamlessly into any living room setup. It’s a bit larger than previous models and is available in two colors: black and white.

Sony has some significant news to share. The debut of two new high-end home theater audio systems by the brand was recently announced in a spectacular way. According to the firm, both soundbars will be a pleasure for audiophiles. These soundbars are ideal for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The all-new Sony soundbars come with HDMI 2.1 passthrough connectors that support a variety of fascinating features, like 8K video, 4K gaming at 120Hz, Dolby Vision HDR, eARC, and more.

Let’s take a look at the HT-A7000 Dolby Atmos 7.1.2-channel soundbar as an example. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs are included on the A7000. This will allow you to run both a PlayStation 5 and an Xbox Series X with ease. The experience will definitely be strange, as each console will be able to be used to its maximum potential.

In addition, the A7000 soundbar includes two up-firing Atmos speakers, two beam tweeters, and five front speakers for a broader surround experience. A built-in dual subwoofer is also included. If you need more bass, you may buy a standalone subwoofer, such as the $699.99 300-watt wireless subwoofer or the $399.99 200-watt subwoofer.

This premium 12-inch tall soundbar is intelligent enough to tune itself to the room’s acoustics by using the microphone on the remote to get a rough sense of the room’s height and width. This allows it to adjust the sound profile appropriately. It also supports 360 Reality Audio and high-resolution audio. Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and Apple AirPlay 2 are all supported with the A7000. It’ll set you back $1,299.99.

The HT-A9 is the name of the second Sony soundar, which is more expensive than the first. Four wireless speakers make up this soundbar. It also comes with a control box that resembles an Apple TV in size. The four wireless speakers, which are shaped like a cylinder, may be positioned almost anywhere in a room. The four wireless speakers’ backs have been made flat so that they may be placed easily.

Unlike the A7000, the HT-A9 only has one HDMI input rather than two. The control box, on the other hand, features an ethernet jack and an aux port, allowing all compatible Sony TVs to function as the center channel. This, presumably, will result in superb sound clarity.

Because the four wireless speakers can be placed anywhere in the room, the Sony HT-sound A9’s field optimization takes the position of each speaker into account when tuning the audio. Sony has also mentioned bringing the 360 spatial sound mapping technology to the market. By synthesizing sound waves based on positional information, the business claims that this technique can create up to twelve “phantom” speakers from just four speakers. If this is the case, then watching this sound trickery on the soundbars would be a treat. The soundbar will set you back $1,799.99.

The only flaw with these soundbars is that each speaker, as well as the control box, has its own power outlet. This brings the total number of outlets to five. Furthermore, because these soundbars are wireless, there is a chance of audio sync difficulties. Your game session may be a little less thrilling due to the audio sync issue.

Leaving all speculation aside, the good news is that both the HT-A7000 and HT-A9 will be available for purchase between September and October, which is a much shorter wait.
